Subject: End of Tour Emotions...
Subject: End of Tour Emotions...
Dr. Unclear, I know exactly what you meant, I saw the boys in Chicago on 5/4 & 5/5. The Gorge had a bit of unusual show energy, you see that at the end of tours though. I had 13th row seats and was BLOWN AWAY during the space>Days Between.
My skin was tingling and there was a profound sense of the emotions Bobby was dealing with as he sang the hell out of that song. I understand Days Between was one of the last songs that Jerry & Robert Hunter did.
I saw Bobby get the chills and quickly shake his head at one point, Jerry's energy and memory was CLEARLY with him. That song sings of the changing of the seasons and the parallelisms of our existence. Pretty powerful shit when you consider the difficult relationship the 2 of them had over the years. My fiance has a better understanding of The Dead community after seeing how emotional fans were at the shows. I hope to God they do a Fall tour, and like Phil said "keep playin' until they drop"

This recording is pretty nice, grab it if you're on the fence.
I was at this show at it was, well, weird for me. There we some obvious highlights. First set's Dark Star -> Dire Wolf was really cool!
But coming off the stunning Shoreline run, I was really pumped for a high energy show with solid playing. Warren was solid as usual, but I felt that the band was a little "restrained" all night long.
During the 30+ minute space -> Days Between I got the distinct feeling that Bob may be feeling sentimental/emotional. I can't prove or disprove my theory, it just struck me that way from the playing and vibe being emitted.
A very interesting experience.

Wow great sound quality and clarity in these FLAC Files! Not so great when listening online through FLASH but that aint what we are downloading now is it. I see the Dead is in their Groovy Laid Back West Coast show form>>>>>>>Giddy Up!!!!!!!
Don't be fooled by the sound on the FLASH Player very nice recording and excellent FLAC Front end.
Eyes kind of reminds me of when they had Bruce playing with them.

Sounds great!
Hey, I'm an old c-tree-er! I'm sorry I didn't think to get in touch with you before the gig. It would have been fun to meet up down there.
As it was, it was a magical day. Thanks for taping, I love your recording.
