This item consists of the field notes of Max C. Thompson from his work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey in 1965 and 1966. The notes document Thompson's activities observing, banding, and collecting birds on various Pacific islands including Baker Island, Birnie Island, Christmas Island, Enderbury Island, Hawaii, Howland Island, Hull Island, Johnston Atoll, McKean Island, and Palmyra Island. Included are maps of several American Samoa islands. A report from the Southern Island Cruise number 11 is also present, and includes an itinerary
