Vol. 1. includes several detailed, hand-colored scientific illustrations by Ernest H. Quayle of bird specimens collected and observed
Vol. 2 has the June 1925 (vol. 3, no. 17) issue of the Fiji Times & Herald's Fiji Tourist Gazette bound in after page 200. Also included is a brochure entitled British Empire Exhibition of Fiji, 1924 lightly pasted onto page [201]
Daily field notes (many mentioning Ernest Quayle) from Beck's time as leader of the Whitney South Sea Expedition from 1920 to 1925. Beck was the leader of field research for the first eight years of the Whitney South Seas Expedition
During his lifetime, Beck was considered the foremost collector in the field and was renowned for his ability to quickly prepare well-made studyskins of birds. He had led the AMNH Brewster-Sanford Expedition (1912-1917) before joining Whitney South Seas Expedition
