They started at .10 and dropped to .03, and many were not picked. These were the red varieties only. The standard black variety, the Black Champion did well. In 1914 they started at .24 and dropped .13, in 1915 they started at .17 and dropped to .09. Is this not a good record as com- pared with the red currants? While others are taking out their bushes and practically no one planting, why not be wise and prepare for this scarcity which is sure to come in the currant market. Do not follow the crowd and plant what they are planting. In a few years that f rui t wi 1 1 be cheap and currants will be high again. THINK ! The Black Champion begins to bear the second year and bears every year. Are free from currant worms and very seldom attacked by the scale. Is this not a great saving in the cost of production? Only cultivation and pruning. I have left, a few thousand 2 year old xxx grade Black Champion, which I offer at $18 per 1000. They have a very heavy root system with a large top growth. See samples in Hudson River Fruit Exchange booth. Also 2500 2 year xx Wilders at $18 per thousand, and 1000 2 year x Wilders at ( Over ) $10 per thousand. The foregoing are in storage ready for early shipment. I have in nursery now the following xxx 1 year old bushes! 200 Black Champion, 5000 Wilder, 2000 Fays and 5000 2 year old Cherry.
