Cut off all bruised or broken roots. Plant deep enough to have the bud well covered after planting. Give them a good soaking. When the water has settled away, cover the ground with fine mulch of rotten manure. Trim the tops back, leaving not more than three strong shoots, having from two to four good buds each.
