Nurseries 4ug 7 7920 PRICE LIST “A Stark Tree is Cheap at $5.00 compared to those other trees as a gift!” declares Mr. Sutton of Houser & Sutton, owners of 7,000 Stark Tree orchard near Newton, 111. Look at the photos at right and see why! Photo No. 1 shows Stark Delicious Tree (Stark Tree) 1 year and 3 months from planting. It was planted exactly same time as “cheap” tree shown in photo No. 2. Note appalling difference. Photo No. 3 shows a Stark Tree planted only 3 months ago! Even this 3 months Stark Tree is bigger than the 15 months cheap tree. Low Price Trees Poor “Bargains” ‘The former manager of the orchard I now hav e charge of bought and planted some trees — cheap in price, cheaper in quality. They are NOW FIVE YEARS old. They are stunted, crooked — have required extra cultivation and care. It is almost impossible to make them grow. ‘STARK TREES PLANTED THREE YEARS AGO ARE MUCH LARGER, finer and more shapely than the five-year-old cheap trees. “Anyone having any doubt about what cheap trees will NOT do and what Stark Bro's Trees WILL do should come to my orchard." Benj. Douglass, owner-manager Hickory Hill Orchard, Trevlac, Ind., and former State Entomologist. ver // We // Will / / Give You f Home Beautifying Plans and Advice FREE Thrifty Trees That Bear Young The Only Safe Investment Look at this fine well grown, big rooted, Stark Tree. We do not replace stock that fails to live. Possible neglect of planter and unavoidable climatic conditions prevent our guaranteeing our trees and plants to live. We deliver the stock to transporta- tion company in good condition; our responsibility ends there. If the stock is damaged in transit, claim for damages should be promptly made on transporta- tion company. Non-delivery of stock is excused in case of fire, frost, floods, drouth, strikes, shortage of nursery stock or other causes beyond seller’s control. Changes in Orders it may be necessary to — — — — — — — — make some changes in size and variety of trees and plants ordered, unless customer definitely states that it will not be permitted. Changes, if made, will be under the direction of our expert trained men and equal or superior sorts will be sent. We have the largest and most complete stock of nursery trees in America, but because of the unprecedented shortage and the greatest demand we have ever experienced, many sorts will doubtless sell out early. We can also ship grapevines, berry plants and small size Ornamentals in the same manner — prices are 5 cents more than listed. However, we prefer express and freight ship- ments, but make this offer for those far removed from railroads.
