The above is not for the professional gardener. He knows more about it than we do, but we are often asked about these matters, therefore we have done our best and hope some one will be benefited.

Few changes have been made in the above since it was written by John B. Gill, 30 years ago.

“And the work is done”

HOTKAPS are wax paper cones which completely protect each plant from frost, wind and insects. Easy and quick to “set.” The gardener is well repaid for the time and money spent on HOTKAPS.

The best recommendation for HOT¬ KAPS is their continued use, year after year, by the same growers of vegetables.

Illustrations to the left give a very good idea of how they are used.

Of course HOTKAPS can be “set” by hand, but the use of Setter and Tamper makes the work much faster and more satisfactory.

One of our customers, a leading mel¬ on grower, tells us that he can pro¬ duce ripe melons a week to 10 days earlier by the use of Hotkaps than without them.

Protection from insects, alone, large¬ ly offsets the expense of Hotkaps.

FIELD SEEDS

At the time this catalog is printed, we cannot quote Field Seeds, therefore a special Field Seed Price List will be issued in February.

We carry a full stock of field seeds such as are adapted to this locality. Most of these seeds are grown locally. Everything is carefully recleaned and tested for germination.

The Field Seed List will be ready about February 15th.
