FOREWORD
THE FLOWER
BEAUTY is the synonym for gladioli. There is no flower of~ our gardens which can outrival it in stateliness, grace and endless variety of color- ings. Its colors range from the purest white through the deepest self-shades. There are mot- tled, speckled and blotched ones without end.
VARIETIES are extremely -numerous. A- selection of the best can be made only by those who have had years of experience. It is our policy to give our customers the benefit of our knowledge and to list only those varieties which have received the highest awards by gladioli experts all over the country. Many of the older, well-known kinds have been eliminated to give place to their suc- cessful rivals. Our endeavor is to keep abreast of the marvelous development which American growers, each year, are bringing about in this flower.
CULTURE. There is no flower easier to raise than the gladiolus. In the spring the clean, round bulb is placed in the ground and nature and an occasional watering takes care of the rest. Even the production of prize-winning spikes is a sim- ple matter and full directions are given with all bulbs we send out.
THE BULB
PEDIGREE is back of every fine variety; but, how- ever worthy the kind may be, one cannot hope to get good flowers if the bulbs have not been raised under the proper conditions of soil and climate. The Puget Sound country has been pro- nounced by experts to be the best bulb section in the world, Holland not excluded; and we spare no expense to give our bulbs the proper growing conditions.
GUARANTEE. We guarantee to furnish bulbs of unusual vitality, large blooming size and abso- lutely true to name. We will rectify, only too gladly, any mistakes that might happen, and will replace any bulbs that are not true to name. It must be mutually understood, however, that beyond this we will not be held responsible.
PRICES. Our prices are the lowest consistent with the quality of bulbs we send out. We have long since learned that poor seeds and bulbs are ex- pensive at any price; and it is our aim to deal with our customers as we would be dealt with.
100 Bulbs at 7 times the dozen rate
TERMS. Cash with order where immediate delivery is to be made. When goods are held for future delivery, a deposit of one-fourth the amount is asked.
DELIVERY is usually by parcel post prepaid free to any part of the United States. Mail orders re- ceive our most careful attention.
