PRODUCED BY

RHEA LITHO—DENVER

Dear Friend:

If you are looking for the Highest Quality Seed—then here’s the place to get it.

Garwood Seed is seed of the highest quality.

All the seed that we sell is grown by specialists in their particular line. Men who have devoted years to the study and the development of seeds. Our growing seed crops are under their close supervision at all times. The stock seed that we plant comes from carefully selected plants, in many cases starting with a single plant. Great care is given to the breeding, selecting and harvesting of these parent stocks. This stock is then used to produce the commercia! seed that we use to fill your order. These fields are all care- fully inspected, rogued and harvested to see that nothing but perfect specimens, true to type, are seeded.

The two most important factors in growing any crop is the Seed and the Seed Bed. The proper seed bed depends on you—give it your most careful attention. Your seed should come from a seedsman who has devoted years of work and study to seed growing and selecting. One who makes a specialty pf quality seed for commercial planting. Don't try to cut costs by buying cheap seed. The seed is the least costly of any of your operations. We make a specialty of growing seeds for the large commercial plant- ers, men who depend on their vegetable crops for a living. We ship our seeds to large planters all over the United States, and many foreign countries. That our seeds come up to their expectations is evidenced by the fact that they order from us year after year. We receive many letters from friends who are proud to tell us that they have used GARWOOD SEED for years, reporting good results. The name of GARWOOD has stood as a symbol of QUALITY SEEDS for over fifty years.

To those of you who have been using our stocks in the past, we thank you for aiding in the success of our business. To those of you who have yet to try GARWOOD SEEDS, we ask that you plant some. Compare the results with seed from any other source. We claim that there are no

better seeds than GARWOOD QUALITY SEED.

With sincere best wishes for the 1949 Season.

Many of the large shippers have hailed the No. 5 as the most outstanding shipping melon. it was developed from the No. 45 and shows more resistance to certain types of mildew. In appearance it is very similar to the other Mildew Resistant strains, except that the netting is more flat and finer lined, showing considerable suture.

Radish

Our radish stocks are unequalled by any others to be had from American or Eu- ropean sources. Tons of stock seed are grown each year from roots which are pulled, hand-selected by skilled workers and replanted for seed production in carefully isolated fields.
