R. S. Cowan, Editor Charles R. Gunn, Associate Editor Department of Botany Plant Taxonomy Laboratory Smithsonian Institution BARC-WEST, USDA Washington, D.C. 20560 Beltsville, Maryland 20705 Number Seven (Directory Issue) May 1978 FROM THE EDITORS : As you can see from the distribution map above ,^he BEAN BAG enjoys a global readership! Nearly 200 individuals and fifteen institutions in many countries l receive the newsletter. We thought you would be interested in where the readers are, as well as their special interests, which appear in the directory follox^ing. Each entry in the directory includes the full name, address, and title of each addressee who returned the pink sheets sent with BB-No. 6. We have included many of those who failed to return their form because we know they have an active interest in the subject matter. In many instances the entries for these people are less complete, ' | ' -2- we regret to say. Since the newsletter is sent free of any charge, all over the world, there are costs to consider; so if anyone receiving it would prefer not to have an individual copy, please do let us know. ' Many of you have written, or spoken, kind words about the usefulness of the BEAN BAG, and we sincerely appreciate your generous comments. Let this serve as a very warm "thank you" to all of you. Although it is not our custom to note the passing of our readers, the death of Elmar E. Leppik earlier this year should not go unnoticed. Dr. Leppik came to this country from Lithuania many years ago and was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the time of his sudden, final illness. His authoritative papers on the rust-fungi on legumes, on floral evolution, and on pollination ecology remain a memorial to him. * * * DIRECTORY * * * INDIVIDUALS ACEBES, Juan Ramon Ginoves; (Licenciado) ; Depto, de Botanica, Facultad de Ciencias, Universidad de la Laguna, Tenerife, SPAIN; [Papilionoideae (Vicieae) ; Canarias - taxonomxa] VON REIS ALTSCHUL, Siri; 45 East 89th Street, Apt. 30A, New York City, NY 10028, USA ANDERSON, Douglas M.
