SPRING SURPLUS BULLE

February 1,.1949: With one of the best growing seasons behind us (and in spite of one of the wettest winters on top of us), we are able to offer here one of the best selections of well grown material we have ever had the pleasure of housing. Most items listed are in our house here, ready for immediate handling. Our two railroads are still on the job, and so all we need to complete the picture are your orders.

We have used only our 100 rate in pricing this bulletin, so please do us the courtesy of ordering no less than that 50 pieces. You may assort it to suit yourself, but please bear in mind that all 18-24” shrubs are tied in 10’s, as are most 2-3’ and some 3-4’, although there are a few of the latter grades tied in 5’s. All 12-18” are in 25’s.

TERMS: 2% 10 Days, Net 30 to firms with approved credit. Packing is extra in all cases, and may be figured at about 5% of the amount of the nursery stock, if you want to send cash with your order.

CONIFEROUS EVERGREENS

All of these Conifers are grown from cuttings and transplanted in the fields at least twice, except those marked “Pots” meaning grown in pots of the size specified. These field grown plants are not to be confused with bed or frame grown stock. They have grown at least one and in some instances two years in our full forty-two inch rows where they have had the assiduous care of an Alabama Darky and his friend “The Mule.” They have developed character, and will grow readily into dollars for you. They will be puddled in mud as dug and the roots carefully packed in sphagnum moss in ventilated cases for shipment. Potted stock will be shipped in paper pots of the size specified unless we are instructed to shake out.
