S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE CHASE NURSERY CO., INC. CHASE - ALABAMA “CLOUD 9” DOGWOOD Discovered and developed on our own nursery. The ultimate perfection of loveliness in America’s favorite small tree! Protected by plant patent #2112, issued Dec. 26, 1961. Extremely prolific and precocious—it is not unusual for a one-year tree to have 15 to 20 bloom buds. There are many reports from all over the country of trees having as many as 75 to 90 blooms the first year after trans- planting! Has been checked out and enthusiastically accepted by leading nurserymen from Georgia to Massachusetts, and from Missouri to Michigan. The bracts (petals) are oval and overlapping giving the blossoms a pleasing disk-like effect. The habit of growth is spreading. The tree tries to assume the delightful horizontal branching of native Dogwoods found growing in deep shady woods. Don’t wait forever for White Dogwood to bloom. Use “CLOUD 9,” and have blooms from the very first year. Budded on Transplanted Seedlings. Priced each, in lots of: ey) 10—49 50-249 12*to 1S ints Barethooter ere. eee $1.40 $1.20 $1.10 US to-240ins eB areihkoour eer eee 1.65 1.45 135 Dtows ft.) All balls hand dug, securely sewed and tightly laced. Keeps the tree tight in the ball of earth. A few quotes from some very satisfied users of “Cloud 9”: Kentucky, April 9, 1961: “‘ This little Dogwood (Cloud 9) measures 30 in. from the top of the ball to the uppermost twig. When it was installed in the Home Show, it had 64 buds.”’ Missouri, May 4, 1961: “You should see my Cloud 9. It isn’t very tall, but it has 93 blossoms. It looks just like a bouquet of white flowers.” CHASE NURSERY COMPANY, INC., CHASE, ALABAMA SEPTEMBER 28, 1962 FALL 1962 — SPRING 1963 Wholesale Orade List All nursery stock sold is subject to the standard non warranty clause: “We give no warranty, express or implied, as to description, productiveness, or any other matter, of any nursery stock, seeds, or bulbs we sell.” Terms: 2% 10 days, net 30, are our standard terms, unless extended by pre-arrange- ment, to customers of well known or approved credit.
