John DeTally and I took turns wearing the mics and running the decks, both WM-D6C's Mine first then his. The blanket space was about half way between the house soundboard mix position and the stage and was fairly large I believe it was 4 large king size tie died sheets sewn together... plus made a few others surrounding the quite fob taping zone... It sounds very sweet way up in there. I had DIY'd my To a K1 capsules to be "active" from the bodies sometime in 1988 , I believe. Later Some on I knew "machines some threaded parts, though out of aluminum, and with the fine threading it proved to be too soft and would occasionally lose connections, I think for this run I simply had the cables electrical taped on to the caps and bodies. There were multiple pops and high transient clips and crackles, in the left channel. I only ran 12/27 and 12/28 upfront, I did not want the stress on 12./30 or 12/31 so I ran from way in the back in the Official Taping Section (OTS) which was not even on the floor, but in the back elevated stands. Finally I am able to master both of these FOB nights, and use the right channel to patch the left, where needed. It is certainly a labor of love, but well worth the effort I hope that you enjoy the recordings too. No EQ or other effects were applied. Tech Notes: first 3 minutes of set 1 had multiple patches in LTGTR with the right used for left (AKA mono). Only about 30 seconds of LTGTR patched. The rest of set one is unpatched. No patches in second set For many years this was the only source I had to listen to my own and is why I started taping, so I could hear the shows I attended. enjoy - ArchivalAudio ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ length expanded size cdr WAVE problems fmt ratio filename 1:53.01 19935596 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.3620 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-01.flac 4:59.38 52833020 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5711 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-02.flac 10:49.31 114556556 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5403 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-03.flac 3:46.26 39927596 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5673 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-04.flac 11:35.00 122598044 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5236 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-05.flac 7:26.34 78754412 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5561 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-06.flac 7:16.69 77072732 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5133 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-07.flac 8:01.37 84935468 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5388 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-08.flac 12:08.48 128532140 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5415 gd1989-12-28-set1-AA-fob-toaK1-09.flac 0:39.25 6938444 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.4615 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-01.flac 9:19.19 98652332 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5659 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-02.flac 9:00.15 95291324 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5441 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-03.flac 11:22.72 120474188 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5710 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-04.flac 12:57.19 137107532 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5471 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-05.flac 10:09.38 107517020 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.4819 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-06.flac 5:23.39 57068972 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5749 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-07.flac 6:38.16 70244876 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5952 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-08.flac 8:05.31 85626956 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5105 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-09.flac 6:02.09 63878012 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5727 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-10.flac 0:43.64 7735772 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.4269 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-11.flac 5:40.54 60103052 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6053 gd1989-12-28-set2-AA-fob-toaK1-12.flac 153:59.10 1629784044 B 0.5436 (21 files)
