The fruit contains no seed, but I have little doubt that the plant is correctly referred to the tribe Ivoree ; from the solitary ovules, broadly adnate to about the middle of the septum, with themicropyle (Ithink certainly) down- wards. As a genus is it evidently clearly allied both in habit and characters the fruit, which is crustaceous and 2-celled, not drupaceous with 2 nes.
