ANNUAL REPORT OF SECRETARY During 1965 the Society was asked to send a representative to testify before the Combined Senate-House Committee on aspects of Conservation in Hawaii, and the Governor's Council on Natural Beauty and Community Appearance. Mr. Walter Holt is the Society's representative on the Oahu Advisory Beautification Commit, tee. Winners of the Wish Awards at the Hawaii Science Fair were Mr. Edwin Chinn of Kalani High School, Honolulu and Misses Adele Azaina and Shirley Fujirnoto of Highlands Intermediate School, Pearl City. The Society noted with regret the passing during the year of two of its foremost members, Mr. Robert Ailerton and. Miss Marie Meal, from whom the Society gratefully received a bequest of $500. The Summer Foray, led by Dr. George Gillett, was held on July 5 on the Kawaiiki Ditch Trail and attended by over J00 persons, including about 50 Hawaii Junior Science apprentices.
