Knox Jones, Jr.,' Robert S. Hoffmann^ AND S. M. KORTLUCKE^ More than a decade ago Jones and Genoways (1969) published a list of the type specimens housed in the Division of Mammalogy. Museum of Natural History, The University of Kansas. Since that time 23 holotypes of new species and subspecies of mammals have been deposited in that museum. In addition, the holotype of Peromyscus hooperi Lee and Schmidly (1977:263) was based on a specimen originally at Kansas (KU 56652), but now deposited in the University of Illinois Museum of Natural History (UIMNH 53848). It seems appropriate at this time to supplement the original summary of 100 type specimens. We follow the format employed in the first list; the order of higher taxa follows Hall (1981).
