Best known for his Swallows and Amazons series of children’s books, Arthur Ransome presents here a selection of stories based on Russian folklore. The author served during WWI and the Russian Revolution as a correspondent for the Daily News and the Manchester Guardian, and later married Evgenia Shvelpina, Trotsky’s secretary. He later retired form journalism and began writing his popular children’s books. (Wikipedia)
