This is undoubtedly the largest and best October Peach yet produced. ‘The parent tree was found growing in an old orchard in this Parish and is believed to be 25 or 30 years old, and is yet bearing very fine Fruit. Description—Large and round with suture; a beautiful yellow, cling, very tender and juicy, and in flavor unsurpassed; a fine shipper and extra forcanning. This Peach originated in Avoyelles Parish and was named and introduced by Mr. J. L. Normand. He describes it as being very large, roundish oblong, skin pale creamy white, slightly shaded on the sunny side with red; flesh white, juicy and sweet, cling. When fully ripe will peel ike a banana. It measures 12 to 18 inches in circumference. MR. J. L. NORMAND: Drak Str: Allow me to thank you for the basket of Burk Peaches, I don’t know that I ever enjoyed a more delicious feast. They are very large, juicy and haye a flayor that is simply lucions. No orehard should be considered complete without them. HON. A. B, IRION. NORMAND’S CHOICE. This new Peach was also introduced by Mr. J. . Normand. He claims that it is the$best September Peach yet introduced. KALOOLA, A new seedling of the Chinese Cling originated and intro- duced bye. It is the best clear seed Peach that I have ever seen. I have fruited it for several seasons. It is large, oblong, creamy white with slight blush on sunny side. very tender and juicy; when fully ripe can be peeled with the fingers. All who have ate it pronounce it delicious. Ripe July 25. ’ “MARKS.” This is an extra large clear seed Peach, 10 to 12 inches in circumference, round, perfectly, white, flesh thick and very sweet and tender; fine for canning. Ripe end of August. YELLOW FOREST. This is a very fine new Apple. | The original tree was found when quite small growing in the woods near his residence by Captain Joe. Winston, of this Parish. He removed it to his orchard and in a few years it come into bearing. It has proved to be one of the finest Apples at its season. It has been the ad- miration of many lovers of Fruit. Description—Round, some- times a little flat, greenish yellow with a few dark specks and bloches near the crown, becoming beautifully yellow when laid away for some time—the aroma filling the room with its delicious perfume. It is very fine for cider, it being almost as clear as water; it is also extra for drying; makes a beautiful tree.
