There would bo absolutely no necessity to employ i a nan with any special qualifications as an engine attendant? one of the Gardens coolies would acquire sufficient knowledge in a week to start and stop the plant and no attention at al is necessary during a six hours run. « * h The amount of kerosine oil required would actually be * rather less than 90 gallons and the price at present is $2.10 per case of eight gallons or rather less than the figure I mention. As for item "c",! would only mention that you could easily purchase sufficient viaste and lubricating oil for tlje whole year ( 360 hours ) for less than a quarter the ‘sun tit- allowed. I hope this will be of some use to you. It seems really ridiculous to carry on with the present carting system when so much more could be done with the money.
