Selection of Seeds.
While this list of seeds does not embrace all the numerous varieties that are
advertised in the various catalogues of the country — many of which are obsolete,
and the same seed often passing under a half dozen names — it does embrace all
the leading standard varieties that have been tested and known to be adapted to
our soil and climate.
Truck Farming is a great industry in Florida. Each new season adds thousands
of acres of her virgin soil to the production of vegetables for the Northern and
Western Markets, and as time rolls on experience will point the way to a success of
greater magnitude than has been hitherto attained elsewhere.
READ THIS.
These seeds are all grown especially for us, and are fresh, genuine and reliable.
We handle no commission seeds. We guarantee all the seeds we sell as being fresh
and genuine and true to name, and will make all sales good so far as returning
purchase money if desired, or supplying the same amount of seed, but we do
not hold ourselves liable for any damage beyond that.

Fresh seed of the Italian and Teneriffe varieties cannot be obtained from Eu-
rope before the latter part of September or early in October. These varieties are
superior to any other cultivated in this State, and yield well from the seed. Our Onion
Seed are the genuine imported seed, any reports to the contrary notwithstanding.

FORAGE CROPS.
There are but few crops in this State that are of equal importance to the forage
crops. East and Middle Florida are particularly interested in producing sufficient
food for home consumption. It can de done by careful husbandry, if the proper
crops are selected. Rust Proof Oats, Pearl Millet and Field or Cow Peas will
make good forage crops, if planted in fair soil, with good tillage. Rust Proof Oats
can be sown from the first of October to the Middle of February; Pearl Millet
from the 20th of March to the 1st of August, and can be cut every month on good soil.
Field Peas may be sown from April to August, but May and June planting is pre-
ferred, and we would recommend the Whippoorwill or Speckled Pea as being the
earliest variety and best to sow. The Conch Pea is a late Pea and makes nothing
but vines, is a very rank grower, and it is said a quart of these will cover an acre
in vines. Southern Rye makes fair winter pasturage, but small yield of grain'.
Northern Rye does fairly well, and likewise Barley. The latter crop is gaining
favor with those who have tried it.

FERTILIZERS.
Tygert>Allen Fertilizer Co’s Star Brand Fertilizers.
After mature deliberation and a careful study of its merits, we accepted the
State Agency, many years ago, of Tygert- Allen Fertilizer Co’s Star Brand
Fertilizers, and are thoroughly satisfied that they are equal, if not superior to any
of the standard grades on the market, and we feel no hesitancy in recommending
them to the orange and vegetable growers of Florida, and ask for a fair trial.
These fertilizers are made from the purest and most soluble materials, and contain
none of those ingredients that may prove the given analysis, yet are worthless
when applied to plants, and they contain no foreign matter. They are put up in
good, strong sacks, 200 pounds each, and our price is the lowest in the market.
We shall be pleased to furnish the analysis on application.

roughness and bulk so important to the digestion. “Purina” Feed is a tested and
tried balanced ration. Especially at this season of the year when the hardest work
must be done. “‘Purina’ keeps your Mules up” and we may add — “Feed bills
