Kevitt's System

Record breaking crops of strawberries now grow-
ing by my system* The enormous yield of 50,000
quarts strawberries on one acre (Glen Mary) will
give the above yield the 2d season. Till the soil
by intensive methods that will make 5 quarts of
strawberries grow where one grows now*

BRIEF DIRECTIONS

When growing by my system mark out beds 4
ft* apart* path between each bed 1 ft* 9 3-4 wide,
see chart* set out plants in the 4 ft* beds 1 ft* each

way* this will give 5 plants to each row across the
4 ft* beds as shown* This method of culture re-
quires 1*940 plants to each 25x100 or 33*795 plants
to the acre*

A DISCOVERY OF GREAT VALUE.

Strawberry plants to produce big crops, instead of the mass of small berries, or no berries, on the
vines, which is often the case — a profusion of runners and plants and no fruit, as found on the plants of
the average grower* My system is to have one plant produce as much and more than ten weak
plants in the thick, matted rows; guide the growth of the plant, making it take the form of a single
plant by restriction. My object is to show how plants may be improved and strengthened so as to
meet the requirements of the grower. It has been shown that the strength of the plants all goes to
runners and foliage and not to the development of the fruit organs if a plant is allowed to send out
runners. If plants are set out by my system all runners must be keep cut off each season. Plants
may be retained year after year without renewing. My system of culture the plants do not become
exhausted and will produce large crops for from 8 to 10 years.
