customers so well pleased with what they received I have decided to put out more special offers
in collections this year for fall of 1909 and spring of 1910, while trecs have advanced in price
more in proportion than farm crops, I am in position to make these low prices on first class
stock guaranteed to be as represented. If found otherwise same will be replaced free of charge
or money refunded. These collections are all packed up in seperate frost proof paper lined
packages when ordered to be shipped, and delivered at freight or express office at the nursery

MONTMORENCY CHERRY

There is no fruit tree that is as hardy and has as few insects and diseases, and a tree that
scale does not work on, as sour cherry, and it will do well in any well drained soil and will
stan’! close planting and is excellent for wind brakes, or for around buildings, ora screen for
any unsightly places, and when you can buy trees at the prices mentioned below you cannot
invest money that will give the satisfaction as the cherry will give and bring youas big returns.
There is always a good market for the fruit at a high price and if you will remember the old
time orchards there are but a few of the trees left standing and these few are the May or Mo-
rello cherry trees which are still good and heaithy, while the remainder of the orchard is gone.
We would advise our customers to plant heavy of the sour cherry which will insure large re-
turns,

where almost all other trees or crops fail and it should be extensively planted for fence posts.
The life of a locust fence post is known to be more than fifty years.

RUSSIAN MULBERRY

Russian Mulberry is one of the best known trees to plant for wind brake around orchards,
buildings, etc. Makes homes and provides favorite homes for birds, which will destroy with-
out cost more insects around an orchard than can possibly be killed by experienced spray-
ing. The Mulberry being a favorite food for the bird prevent them from eating the other fruit.

.The osage is not anew plant. Almost every one with any experience in farming knows
something of it. But it is only within the last few years that the real value has been realized.
If given the proper chance on a farm it will be one of the most profitable crops planted.

USE OF THE OSAGE

The wood is heavy, tough, hard and strong, makes excellent wagon feloes. hubs, tool hand-
les, insular pins, fence posts, and is of a beautiful golden color. Has been known to last as
fence posts more than eighty years. Not easily burned which makes it an excellent post along
railroads or places exposed to fire,

FOR HEDGE PURPOSES

One of the best hedge plants, and in a fence from 25 to 40 rods long, if oneplant out of 25
to 30 is allowed to grow without trimming, it will produce enough posts to fence a good sized

farm.
