House Showing Collection of Stove and Greenhouse Plants

Roehrs’ General Plant Catalogue

We have pleasure in presenting this Catalogue to our many friends and patrons, and thank them
for their generous support in the past, a continuance of which we respectfully solicit.

It has always been our aim to deserve the appreciation bestowed upon us, and we hope to do still
better in the future.

We are continually adding to our collections of different plants, trying always to have them as com-
plete as possible.

The stock we offer is in first-class condition and none but well-grown plants will be sent out.

Every plant offered is guaranteed true to name.

Prices quoted herein are subject to change without notice.

Visitors are always welcome at our Nurseries, which can be reached via Erie Railroad from Jersey
City, N. J., Rutherford being the first station out; or via electric cars, White Line Trolley, from Hoboken,
N. J., at the D. L. & W. Railroad depot.

Stove and Greenhouse Plants

We have the most extensive collection in America.

We are in a position to fill conservatories with the choicest of plants. Anyone building conservatories
and wishing to fill same with plants away from the ordinary every-day collections would do well to commu-
nicate with us.

These choice plants are quite as easily grown as others, add more luster and beauty to the greenhouse,
and give far more pleasure to the amateur. Some of the plants enumerated in this Catalog are climbing
plants, producing beautiful flowers, and are most desirable for decorating conservatories.

Many of these plants can be had in smaller sizes.

We always have on hand a quantity of large
specimen plants in case immediate effect is desired.

Rhododendrons growing under natural conditions

FLOWERING SHRUBS

These indispensable hardy shrubs are mostly planted for immediate effect.

Rhododendrons

These plants, especially when planted in beds, make a beautiful display in early summer; we make
a specialty of these, importing and growing them in quantities handling none but hardy varieties. We
have hundreds of them in various sizes planted out in our Nurseries. We enumerate below some of the
very best, giving as nearly as possible their description as to color.

scarlet; rather small flowers.
Album elegans. A very good white; fine form.
Album grandiflorum. Fine white.

Betsy Parson. Fine blue.
Everestianum. Rosy lilac; large truss of blooms;

RHODODENDRON MAXIMUM

ornamental and valuable evergreen shrub;
flowers white to rose. Can be planted singly or
among Rhododendrons. Price, 75 cts. up.

Good purple.

JUETUS ROEBRS COMPANY, RUTHERFORD; N. J. 23

Azalea Indica

Hardy Azaleas

Next to Rhododendrons, perhaps the most
popular and largely used shrubs. Thrive best in
partial shade, except Azalea amena, which likes
an exposed position.

Azalea amoena. An evergreen flowering shrub,
giving a profusion of magenta flowers in May.
It has no superior. We have these in all sizes

from $1.50 up. Also some large specimens at |

great masses of small, but very bright red

flowers. 50 cts. each.

Nursery Department

Owing to the ever-increasing demand for Specimen Evergreens we beg to invite our customers who
intend to beautify their grounds, however large or small, to call at our Nurseries, where they will find a
fine selection of large subjects. We have recently added considerable more land for this special purpose,
where we intend to go into growing these specialties on a larger scale. We are continually adding to
our collection. The stock is absolutely reliable, having been frequently transplanted; therefore, lifting

Japanese Maples

These plants, with their delicately cut foliage
and colors, running from green to purple and

dwarf spreading habit. All our plants are pot
grown, therefore much stronger and better than
imported ones.

Herbaceous Border

Hardy Herbaceous Plants

Every day the demand for these perennials is increasing and they are fast becoming the most popular

flowers.

There is such an endless variety, differing in color, form and time of blooming, that even with limited
space and careful selection, flowers can be had from early spring till frost puts them to rest for the winter.
They require little care and as the plants increase in size every year, it is quite inexpensive to plant a

border or some beds with these hardy plants.
