Wholesale Trade List
Prices quoted herein are subject to change without notice.
The past season has been much more favorable for the production and harvesting of
seed crops in general than the season of 1912, but the shortage of most varieties was so
great during the past year, that this year’s harvest will by no means fully replenish the
badly depleted stocks of the past three years. Peas, wax beans and many varieties of the
green pod beans, beet seed and some varieties of carrot are in very short supply this year.
Prices quoted herein are undoubtedly as low as will be possible to quote during the coming
season. In many cases there will not be stock enough to go around, if we get the usual
demand. Would therefore recommend that our customers place their orders early to in-
sure getting bottom prices and orders filled in full.
TERMS OF SALE.
VEGETABLE AND FLOWER SEEDS. — Net cash, June i. A discount of
i % per month for unexpired time allowed for cash.
On FIELD PEAS, GRAINS, GRASS, BIRD and other MISCELLANEOUS
SEEDS AND ONION SETS.— Terms : 30 days, less 1% for cash. All bills not
paid at maturity are subject to sight draft.
Remittances must be made direct to our Boston office.
The prices named are F.O.B. , Boston, and are subject to change without notice.
We do not bind ourselves to quantity. Orders will be filled at lowest prices the
market warrants at date of shipment. Firm quotations made when desired.
All claims for shortage, errors or overcharge, must be made within five days
after receipt of goods.
All orders received are subject to our approval and will be accepted only on
condition that we shall not be held liable for damages for failure to execute the
same, through fire, flood, strikes or any other cause beyond our control.
NOTICE, — -While we exercise the greatest care to have all Seeds, Plants,
Bulbs and Nursery Stock of the best kind, we do not give, and our agents and
employees are forbidden to give any warranty, expressed or implied. If you do not
accept these goods on these terms, you must return them at once, and all payments
therefor will be refunded.
JOSEPH BRECK & SONS, (Corporation.)
The Telegraphic Cipher attached to each variety, if used in connection with
the code for quantities, will enable customers to wire us orders at small expense.
Prefix the word, Freight, Express or ITail, to designate the manner of shipment
desired. The code word for quantities must always precede the words for seeds,
although if the same quantity of several varieties is wanted, the quantity word need
only be placed before the word for the first article ordered. For example, “ Freight
Quapode, Bandy, Baker, Bantam, Quonopsy, Brabast, Capture, Clabrate,” means,
“Send immediately by first freight ten bushels each Horticultural, Yellow Six Weeks
and Low’s Champion Dwarf Beans, also five pounds each Arlington Early Turnip
Blood Beet, All Season’s Cabbage, and early Half Long Scarlet Carentan Carrot.”
“Express Quapepsy, Brew,” means, “Send immediately by express fifty pounds
Breck’s Mammoth Long Red Mangel Wurzel.” “Mail Quanomia, Chemic,” means,
“Send by first mail post paid, two pounds Premium Late Flat Dutch Cabbage.”
NOTE. — Code used in this list is adopted by the American Seed Trade
Association.

OLD HOMESTEAD POP CORN
Lovers of pop corn will appreciate the Old Homestead brand of White Rice Pop Corn.
No shelling, no dirt, no insects, no disappointment. It is one year old before being packed,
thus ensuring good popping qualities. We clean this corn by a new process that frees it
from dust, dirt, insects and other impurities. All the corn we pack is especially grown for
us in New England, is cured in the old-fashioned way; consequently is not only clean, but
is free from mixed and flinty kernels which do not pop. For Corn Balls, Candied Pop Corn,
and Nuggets, the Old Homestead will be found superior.

JOSEPH BRECK & SONS
( Corporation )
BRECK’S STANDARD LAW N GRASS SEED.
We supply Breck’s Standard Lawn Grass Seed either in bulk or put up in i-qt. cartons,
2, 4 and 8-qt green bags.
We have given much thought and made many experiments in order to ascertain just
what is the best mixture for permanent lawns, and the grasses which are best suited to this
climate. By the proper blending of the varieties which constitute Breck’s Lawn Grass, wei
have obtained a mixture that from early spring to late fall will give to lawns made with it
that rich, deep green so often admired upon the lawns and parks of England, but so seldom
seen in this country. Sow at the rate of four bush, per acre.
Per bush. of 20 lbs. $3.50 lObushels, per bush., $3.25 ; per case of 32 one-qt. pkgs., $3.75.
BOSTON PARK LAWN GRASS.
The same mixture as supplied by us to the City of Boston Park Commissioners, for sow-
ing on the parks administered by them. Sow at the rate of sixty-four lbs. per acre.

“Corona Dry” (Arsenate of Lead.) A pure Arsenate of Lead containing 33 per cent
arsenic oxide, absolutely chemically combined with lead and the lowest percentage of
‘ ‘free” or water soluble arsenic. It is the ideal compound for spraying potatoes because
it combines the quality of quick poisoning (superior suspension), giving even applica-
tion; absolutely safe from “burning,” and great adhesiveness. It gives an even
application, covers more thoroughly, and sticks to the foliage longer. It mixes easily
and readily in water. No working up to prepare for the spray tank. No straining. It
is only necessary to shake the proportional amount into the spray tank. By using the
same weight each time you spray, your mixture is always the same strength. No
guesswork. Standardization is alone worth the price. No freight to pay on water ;

BRECK’S HYGIENIC BRAND CHICK FOOD -
A scientifically proportioned mixture which will meet every demand of the growing
chick , and supply without excess of fat, the food necessary to produce and sustain vigor-
ous health. There is nothing in this preparation that is at all likely to induce indigestion
or diarrhoea, but on the contrary, it is so balanced in its constituents as to in a large meas-
ure make these troubles impossible where cleanliness and proper brooding conditions exist.
It also contains the bone-forming properties that prevent leg weakness. It is high in pro-
tein, the flesh and muscle forming elements. There is sufficient mineral material to supply
the needs of the bone structure of the rapidly growing chicks, while it is low in carbohydrate,
the fat-forming element, which, where in excess, causes sickness and loss.
No other feed is necessary for the first eight or ten weeks. Feed dry. Price, 100 lb.
bags, $41.00 per ton.
