In compiling this Price List we have followed, as far as possible, the fruit
nomenclature adopted and recommended by the American Pomological Society
and the nomenclature of ornamentals to conform to the 1917 Official Code of
Standardized Plant Names, adopted and published by The American Joint
Committee on Horticultural Nomenclature and as first published in Volume VI
of Bailey’s Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture. Where the name has been
changed in fruit trees we show the old name in parenthesis. In ornamentals,
where possible, we show common name in parenthesis immediately following
botanical specific and varietal name.

TO THE TRADE:

It has been our custom in the past to use this page in saying a
few words for ourselves and our stock. This season we have decided
to use this space instead in publishing some of the nice things our
customers have been good enough to write us. Lack of space prevents
using but few of the pleasant letters we. have received, but we hope
the many who have written along similar lines will not feel that their
kind words are forgotten or unappreciated. To all of our friends and
patrons this page is therefore dedicated.

FRASER NURSERY COMPANY,

HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA

Branch Nursery and Office
Montevallo Road and Avenue F.
Birmingham, Alabama

TENNESSEE

Have just finished planting your first shipment. The plants for
White are the talk of the town and the other plants came up to my
expectations. Thank you again for the nice stock and careful packing.

MISSOURI

The first shipment reached here on Thursday during the blizzard.
I was afraid to start unpacking until weather moderated so did not get
the boxes unpacked until today. Am glad to say that everything
opened up in fine condition with no indication of frost injury. Am
enclosing three small orders which please get out as soon as possible
sending the same route as before. Thanking you for the promptness
with which you handled my last order, I am —

CUBA

The evergreens from Birmingham have finally been cleared and
delivered to my customer who is very much pleased. The trees are
beautiful and were so well packed the balls were uninjured. This is
the first shipment of balled stock I have ever been able to get through
from the States in good shape, usually the balls are so badly broken
the earth falls from around the roots as soon as opened. If you have
four more trees that will match as good as these please ship same as
before.

ALABAMA

Enclosed please find check and additional order which let come
forward as early as possible. Your last shipment has just been received

and checked. The plants are very fine and Mr. — is well

pleased with them. The enclosed order was given me after he had
seen the first lot.

GEORGIA

We have just wired you to ship the following: . . . . Last

season we had better results with your stock than with any other we
handled and we hope you will handle this order in the same careful
manner. The prospects this season are very good and we hope to
handle a number of large orders from people in the County who
expect to plant orchards. Please hurry this through all you can.

WHOLESALE PRICE-LIST, 1918-19

TERMS OF SALE

CASH or satisfactory reference, with sufficient time to investigate be-
fore shipment, is invariably required of parties unknown to us. To
responsible, prompt paying parties, we will extend usual time for
payment.

REMITTANCES should be made by Draft on New York, Chicago, or
St. Louis, or by Express or Postal Money Order.

CLAIMS for damages or deficiencies to receive consideration must be
made promptly upon receipt of goods.

RATES apply as follows: When 10 trees and not over 50 are ordered,
the price will be 2^ cents per tree more than the price per 100.
Orders for 50 trees or more up to 300, when not less than 10 trees
of each variety, will be charged for at the price per 100. Orders
for 300 trees or more, when not less than 10 trees of each variety,
will be charged for at the price per 1000.

TELEGRAMS — Use Nurserymen’s Telegraphic Code, copy of which we
will mail upon request. In connection with this we give a cipher
word in Italics for each grade. When this cipher word is used eith-
er in mail or telegraphic orders no other description of the stock is
necessary.

PACKING — We believe we excel others in the manner of handling stock.
This is due largely to personal experience and supervision. We
pack to insure contents from drying or freezing, even though the
shipment be delayed in transit.

The cost of new boxes, well made, to be added as follows:

30x30x7 to 10 feet $ 5 00 18x24x7^ to 10 feet $3 50

24x30x7 Y2 to 10 feet 4 50 18x18x73^ to 10 feet 3 00

24x24x7 y2 to 10 feet 4 00 15x15x73^ to 10 feet 2 50

Bales 25 cents and up, according to size.

In packing small stock we can sometimes use goods boxes that will
fill ’the purpose just as well as our own new cases, and there is consid-
erable saving by so doing. Goods boxes will be used wherever possible,
unless otherwise instructed.

SHIPMENTS — When ordering, please state plainly whether freight or
express shipment is desired, and give route if by freight. In the
absence of this information we will use our best judgment without
assuming any responsibility as to delivery. Goods are at purchas-
er’s risk and cost after delivery to the forwarding company. Un-
der the Parcel Post system we are often able to forward small pack-
ages for less than the rates charged by express company. Parties
desiring to secure the benefits of Parcel Post should include suffi-
cient for postage in their remittances; the difference, if any, will be
refunded promptly.

GUARANTEE— We are very careful to keep each variety true to name
as labeled, and are ready at any time to replace, on proper proof,
any that may prove otherwise, free of charge, or refund the amount
paid, but it is mutually agreed between the purchaser and our-
selves that we shall at no time be liable for an amount larger than
the original purchase price.

CAUTION — All orders are accepted upon the condition that they shall
be void should any injury befall the stock from frost, hail, fire or
other causes beyond our control.

Note: — The large Magnolia Grandiflora offered above are splendid
specimens. We do not believe there is a finer block of these beautiful
southern  Evergreens  in  the  country.  They  have  been  twice  transplanted ;
have an abundance of fibrous roots and straight smooth trunks with
well formed heads. The trees are carefully dug as needed, roots pud-
dled in mud to prevent evaporation and packed immediately. In this
way there is no exposure and satisfactory results are certain. We
invariably defoliate except for a few leaves at terminals.
