Ornamental Vines, Shrubs and Trees

RAMBLERS

The beauty of
the rambler rose is
so well known, we
will not attempt to
describe it. Among
the very choicest
are, Dorothy Per-
kins, pink; Dorothy
Perkins white; Ex-
celsia, scarlet; Crim-
son Rambler and
Climbing American
Beauty.

used so extensively on
brick, stone and stucco
buildings. The foliage is
dense, completely cover-
ing a surface, and the
autumnal tints of green
and red are unsurpassed
for beauty.

RHODODENDRON EVERGREEN SHRUB

Rhododendron Maximum Broad-leafed evergreen shrub, large
clusters of delicate pink flowers,. Perfectly hardy in N. Y. State.
This is one of the shrubs that takes the man's eye who is desirous
of having his place a little nicer than the other fellow. This shrub
does best on the shady side of a building. Will also grow in shade
of trees. Our price is on large well rooted clumps, $2.00 each,
$11.00 per 6.

Fruit Trees, Vegetables and Berries

HYSLOP CRAB APPLE

HYSLOP CRAB APPLE

An orchard is not complete without
some of these beautiful crab-apples.
The bright red color, and fine flavor
make it the most valuable for home use.

See Price List Page 17

VICTORIA RHUBARB

Large, thrifty growing. Delicious dur-
ing the early summer months. Very
beneficial to the health. Rhubarb lasts
for years, it should be taken up at in-
tervals of about 3 years and a part of
the roots removed, especially where the
clump is broadening out; thus prevent-
ing the stalks from growing small. Re-
quires rich soil.

See Price List Page 18

HORSERADISH, MALINER KREN

This is the vegetable we use to tone
our appetites in the spring. Grows
large and vigorous, sweet and tender.

See Price List Page 18

ASPARAGUS

Easily grown
needs very little
attention and
lasts for years.
Well rotted
straw, leaves or
barn-yard man-
ure liberally ap-
plied in the au-
tumn make an
excellent ferti-
lizer. What is
better in the
early summer
than asparagus.

this delicious berry.

WAITS PERFECTION

(Strawberry)

FALL-BEARING

A new variety. So far this berry
has proven very satisfactory, in most
all respects. Through my experience
as a nurseryman it is best to plant
new varieties of the fall-bearing
berry that has been recently origi-
nated, as we find after repeated
plantings year after year, the plants
divert back to the spring bearing
sorts, thus producing little if any
berries in the autumn.

See Price List, Page 19

LUCRETIA DEWBERRY

I believe this to be the most pro-
fitable of blackberries, easily grown,
all localities. This berry combines
the good qualities of all blackberries.

PLUM FARMER BLACK RASPBERRY

THE PLUM FARMER

The Plum Farmer ranks as the foremost of the black varieties
of raspberries. Early, firm, large, most productive and fine flavor.
The seeds are not noticeable as in most black varieties. There are
more acres of Plum Farmer growing than all other black varieties
combined.

See F'rice List, Page 20

HONEY SWEET
BLACK RASPBERRY

HONEYSWEET BLACK RASPBERRY

A new late variety large, firm and of a honey like flavor.

COLUMBIAN PURPLE

One of the first purple raspberries and still the most widely
grown. It must be very satisfactory.

See Price List, Page 20

WORDEN GRAPE

This fine grape should be
planted in your collection
for home use. A few days

WHAT THEY THINK OF US

East Lynn, 111., May 1, 1926

Mr. A. G. Blount,

Hastings, N. Y.

My dear Mr. Blount: —

The rhododendrons and ferns arrived this morning,
and they are certainly fine plants; the rhododendrons
got here with hardly the loss of a leaf. Several of my
neighbors fell very much in love with it, and I think at
least a couple of them are going to order one, either
this spring, or later on. The ferns, too, were much
larger than we expected to receive; the roots are so
large and strong that they will make large clumps in a
couple of years or so.

Very truly yours,

. • : . Maude M. Palmer.

Mr. A. G. Blount,

Hastings, N. Y.

Dear Sir: —

Received your order May 18th. Was very pleased
with it. In fact it came in the best shape of any
nursery order that came around here this spring. You
can look for future orders from me. I would like to
get you prices on your Spirea Van Houtte, Flowering
Hedge and also your fall prices on your other fall bulbs.

Yours truly, ,

Walter A. Utter,

Wells Bridge, N. Y,, R. D. 1.

A. G. Blount,

Hastings, N. Y.

Dear Sir : —

The plants I got from you several years ago were
nice and had the largest crop of berries I ever raised.
I planted Chesapeake 18 in, apart each way and kept
them in hills. The fruit stems dropped down between
the rows when they got ripe and there was no place to
walk to pick them.

Yours truly,

E. Bullard.
