The

CACO GRAPE

— as beautiful as the California Tokay
— as delicious as the little Delaware Grape
— as hardy and productive as the Concord

The World’s Finest All-Purpose Grape

Surpasses

California’s

Best—

All the Good Qualities
of Older Varieties With
Many New Ones Added

The CACO GRAPE was developed by crossing
the well known Catawba and Concord varieties,
resulting in an entirely new grape with all the
good qualities of its parents, and many new ones
of its own. Here is high quality and melting
texture unsurpassed by the finest hothouse
grapes. It is as productive as the Concord, but
surpasses it and all other varieties in tenderness
of pulp, luscious flavor and aroma. The follow¬
ing technical description from an experiment sta¬
tion bulletin, reads like an advertisement :

“The vine is vigorous, hardy, prolific. Fruit
mid-season to later, ripening a little earlier than
Concord. Clusters are large and compact ; berries
large, round ; color, sparkling wine red, covered
with heavy bloom, giving it an attractive, waxy
appearance; skin moderately thick but tender,
parting readily from the flesh; flesh firm, juicy,
tender ; flavor rich and aromatic ; quality excel¬
lent. The variety is self fertile.”

BEAUTY The CACO Grape is one of

the most beautiful fruits ever
produced, its appearance alone making it a quick
seller on the market, and giving promise of the
delicious flavor so much sought.

SIZE The CACO is among the largest
grapes, both the berries and the
bunches being two or three times the size of the
Concord, as shown by the comparative illustra¬
tion on inside of this folder. In our vineyards
the bunches average 5 to 8 inches in length, and
weigh from three-quarters to one and one-half
pounds.

FLAVOR In flavor the CACO is unsur¬
passed even by the little Dela¬
ware grapes which are considered among the
most delicious. Its high sugar content makes it
ready to eat before thoroughly ripe. It is equally
good for eating raw, or for cooking, or making
into grape juice, which is of a beautiful cham¬
pagne color and exquisite taste.

VIGOR The CACO Grape is among the
most hardy of all fruits — it
grows successfully in any kind of soil, in almost
any climate, and with practically no attention.

PRODUCTIVENESS B H:

Gragg ot

Lawrence, Kans. reports having picked 1,000
pounds of fruit from 80 two-year-old CACO
Grape vines — an average yield of more than 12
pounds to the plant. This yield is not at all un¬
usual. CACO Grapes bring three to four times
as much as others on the market, and the demand
always exceeds the supply.
