introduced in 1910 from Northern India

A hardy, drought resistant perennial bunch grass. 


It is very early in spring growth but during hot 
dry spells it becomes dormant and resumes grow-

This grass is more drought resistant than Brome

JAMES HULLESS OATS 


It is a stiff-strawed, mid-early variety of 
hulless oats. It is resistant to smut and

CHEROKEE OATS 

A new variety that is somewhat earlier 
than Clinton oats. Its kernels have a red-

Medium early, yellow variety with a good 
strength of straw and resistant to most 
rusts and smuts. Well adapted to Central

A very early red oat. This variety is 
adapted to the central and western areas 
of S. Dak. where early maturity is essen-

Resistant to stem and leaf rust. Resistant 
to blight and root-rot disease. Has a stiff 
straw, therefore, is a good oats for com-
