Iris from Bulbs

ENGLISH IRIS

If you have never grown this beautiful Iris, try a few bulbs; you
will be delighted. They thrive in any ordinary garden soil,
multiply very rapidly, and are unexcelled for cut flowers. They
bloom in late June and early July. Need some protection in
severe climates. Plant about 4 inches deep, during September.
Of all the bulbous Iris, these are our favorites. A bouquet of these
lovely flowers will be found as strikingly beautiful in color as
many of the sumptuous erchids. Make lovely corsages.

FASCINATION. Delicate orchid color. 3 for 35ce; $1.25 doz.

KING OF BLUES. Deep velvety blue, sometimes flecked darker. 3 for 35c;
$1.25 doz.

OTHELLO Dark velvety purple-wine, very richly colored. 3 for 35c; $1.25 doz.

TRI-COLOR. Orchid standards and light blue falls with white spot. Outstand-
ing, and as nice as any orchid. 3 for 35c; $1.25 doz.

MIXED ENGLISH IRIS. 12 for $1.00; 25 for $1.75; postpaid.

DUTCH IRIS

This group of Bulbous Iris is of recent introduction. They are very
superior to the old Spanish types; having more substance, bloom
earlier, and stems are longer. The brilliancy and purity of color
of these orchid-like flowers is unsurpassed. As cut flowers they
remain in good condition for a remarkable length of time, and in
the garden have a blooming range of about six weeks. Although
they are very hardy, a mulch will be beneficial in extreme cli-
mates. Plant 5 inches deep.

IMPERATOR. Later blooming than the true Dutch irises, connecting them with
the Spanish. Deep blue standards and falls. Large, free flowering and a
vigorous grower. 60c doz.

WEDGEWOOD. This light blue iris is especially popular because of its early
flowering—two weeks or more earlier than any of the other varieties. Not
recommended for any sub-zero climate. Large flowers of bright Wedgewood
blue. Strong heavy stems. 60c doz.

WHITE EXCELSIOR. 22’. Uniform pure white, falls very broad with yellow
strive. 60c per dozen.

YELLOW QUEEN. 28’. Clear golden yellow. Unexcelled for cutting. 60c doz.
