Dreer’s Reliable

-« Perennial Flower Seeds

For Summer and Autumn Sowing

Most hardy perennials are easy to raise from seed sown during the summer or autumn
either in a frame or in a well prepared seed bed located in a sheltered spot of the garden.
Keep the soil moist and shaded until the seedlings appear and transplant to another frame
or bed when large enough to handle. Most of them will be large enough for setting into
their permanent locations either in late fall or early the following spring.

To help our customers in selecting varieties for the rock garden we have used the symbol
A\ to identify them at a glance. These varieties also are splendid for dwarf beds, borders,
or for edgings. Plants suited for the semi-shade are marked © and those that will grow in
deeper shade @. Practically all of these also do well in a sunny position.

To assist our patrons in securing the maximum results from seeds we issue a leaflet, ‘‘Grow-
ing of Flowers from Seed,’’ which we will gladly enclose with any order on request.

SWEET PEAS

For Outdoor Fall Sowing

Sweet Peas are hardy annuals and the seed may therefore be
sown late in the fall just before the ground freezes for the winter.
They will lie dormant until the following spring, to sprout with
the arrival of the first moderate spring weather. This gives the
plants a chance to establish themselves long before seed can be
sown in the spring which results in stronger vines and finer flowers
