DREER’S ROSE NOVELS One es
Atlantic City Flower and Garden Pageant,

Hybrid-Teas of Exceptional Merit September, 1931, also a Gold Medal at the
Olympiad (me. Raymond Gauiara)

International Flower Show in New York
City, March, 1932, as well as The Gold
Medal, the Sweepstakes Prize, for our ilis-
play of a Garden of Roses, which con-
sisted of 1800 plants of the variety Olym-
piad, at the Philadelphia Flower Show,
March, 19382.

Olympiad is one of the late Mr. Pernet-
Ducher’s seedlings which did not develop
its bloom until after this great rosarian
passed away in 1929. It was shown in
France under the name Mme. Raymond
Guajard but is now known as Olympiad
Which name was adopted in connection
with the International Olympic games be-
ing held in California this year.

The color of Olympiad is unique, a lus-
trous, dark oriental-scarlet, its depth and
warmth accentuated by a bright golden
base and is intensified by a marvelous
velvety sheen that makes its rich coloring
particularly effective, especially under ar-
tificial light.

The bud is long and pointed, the petals
are very broad and the blossom is mag-
nificent in every stage of development.

We are now booking orders for fall and
winter delivery at $50.00 per 100; $400.00
per 1000; 500 or more supplied at 1000
rates.

New Hybrid-Tea

Schwabenland (Pfitzer, 1928). There are many pink
Rose, Olympiad

Roses but none just like this new variety either
in color or in the splendid formation of its blooms.
The flowers are large, over five inches in diameter,
with high spiral centre, the petals having a peculiar
twist or curl. In color it is a luminous rich rose-
pink, retaining its brightness until the petals drop,
the flowers are carried singly on long stiff stems.
A strong, healthy, hardy, vigorous grower and free
flowering. $40.00 per 100.

i Vaterland (Pfitzer, 1928). The most distinct dark col-
Impress. Very large, full, absolutely perfect ored variety yet introduced, deeper and richer in ef-

blooms that last in perfection a long time; fect than the Hybrid-Perpetual variety Prince
color salmon-cerise suffused with a lumi- Camille de Rohan, a rich deep velvety scarlet
nous golden sheen; the bud is large, of maroon and a splendidly formed high centered
ovoid form, cardinal-red, shaded orange; flower of remarkable keeping qualities. The plant

account of its strong vigorous growth, free
and continuous habit of flowering and its
brilliant color. The flowers are of good
size, full double of a brilliant scarlet, or-
angy yellow at base of petals, the upper
portions of same being lightly touched
with crimson, varying some in color under
changing weather conditions but always
beautiful. $40.00 per 100.

Mme. Nicolas Aussel (Pernet-Ducher, 1930).
In a French contest, Sept. 15th, 1931, was
voted an award of a Gold Medal as The
Most Beautiful Rose in France. An out-
standing introduction of the late Mr. Per-
net-Ducher. In color a bright coppery-red
in the very long, shapely, tapering bud
that develops into a large, full double
flower of an exquisite opalescent salmon-
pink. Growth vigorous and healthy, free
and continuous bloomer. $40.00 per 100.

Mrs. Sam MecGredy (McGredy, 1929.) The
eolor of this beautiful variety is quite dis-
tinct from anything yet seen in Roses, a
wonderful dual combination of vivid
shades. A beautiful scarlet coppery-orange
is heavily flushed with Lincoln-red on the
outside of the petals, and these colors to-
gether give a rich and almost dazzling ef-
fect. The flowers are of large size and
beautiful form, and they possess the proper
fullness to make them useful for all pur-
poses. They are very freely produced and
delicately perfumed. The plant has a vig-
orous and exceptionally free habit and is
one of the best all-purpose varieties.
$50.00 per 100.

Portadown Fragrance. A Rose that pleases
not only on account of its beautiful forma-
tion and color but also for its remarkable
sweet fragrance, described by its intro-
ducer as surpassing any other variety. The
bud is long-pointed; the flower very large,
double, high-centered and unusually long
lasting. Color brilliant orange-searlet pass-
ing to bright rose towards the edge of the
petals; of vigorous habit and free flower-
ing. $50.00 per 100.

THE NEW DAWN
The First Rose Protected Under U. S. Patent

Everblooming Hybrid-Perpetual Rose
Mme. Albert Barbier

Introduced several years ago, this remarkable Rose
has quickly found its place in popular favor. In its
habit of flowering it is as free as many of the popular
Hybrid-Tea varieties, its seed parent is Frau Karl
Druschki, from which it has inherited a strong, clean,
vigorous growth; its buds are long and well formed
of a pearly white color suffused with soft, salmony
flesh and develop into large, full double imbricated
flowers of splendid form which as they expand, show
a golden apricot suffused centre. A gem in every re-
spect. $35.00 per 100.

Trailing Hybrid-Rugosa Rose
Max Graf

Makes an excellent pillar or climbing Rose, but will
be found most valuable as a ground cover for which
purpose it is far sunerior to any of the Wichuraiana
varieties. The foliage resembles Rosa Rugosa, is re-
tained very late in the season, it is practically im-
mune to insects and diseases and is absolutely hardy.
Its flowers are large, single, bright pink with prettily
crimped petals. For planting on a steep bank or for
trailing over a stone wall, it has no equal. $390.00 per
100.

New Hybrid-Rugosa Rose
Dr. Eckener

This new Rugosa Hybrid is a welcome addition in
this very hardy type of Rose. It will be found par-
ticularly valuable to plant in the shrubbery border
or as an individual specimen or clump in the garden.
It is strong, vigorous and hardy in growth, with good
sized flowers of cunped form and entirely distinet in
color, being a silken or luminous buff pink with
golden suffusion. $50.00 per 100.

New Hybrid-Polyantha Rose
Pink Gruss an Aachen

Originated as a most distinct sport from the very
popular bedding Rose Gruss an Aachen but of more
intense, richer coloring; the large double flowers
equal in form and size to many of our good Hybrid
Tea varieties and always a mass of bloom through-
out the season, the base color delicate flesh with much
deeper salmon and pink shadings. $40.00 per 100.

THE NEW DAWN
The Everblooming Dr. W. Van Fleet

THE FIRST PLANT PATENTED UNDER THE
UNITED STATES PATENT LAWS

Patent Number 1, the first patent issued August 18,
1931, under the new Patent Law was granted to the
originators of the New Dawn Rose, giving them the
sole rights for the propagation of this desirable new
variety.

This new Rose is a sport from Dr. Van Fleet which
is universally acknowledged as the best and most
popular American Climbing Rose. This new variety
is identical in every way with its parent in size and
formation of its long pointed flesh pink buds and
double flowers, but blooms continuously throughout the
summer and fall months. Really the first worth while
Hardy Everblooming Climber introduced; a variety
that every Rose lover will be anxious to possess.

We are exclusive wholesale distributors of this

valuable acquisition. Our arrangement with the origi-
nators is that the wholesale purchaser shall re-sell
these plants only at retail and no license to repro-
duce same for sale is granted.

price will be $1.50 each and we will supply the trade
at the rate of $75.00 per 100 for strong two-year-old,
budded, field-grown plants. We will have an ample
