Why does google redesign books??
It's really frustrating when the "Open" Library pulls a text out of circulation, preventing the downloading of a book in the public domain, then Google redesigns the book, eliminating the cover of the book, using crummy black and white, blurry scans, and otherwise defaces the same book which supposedly doesn't belong to them, but to the public--hence "public domain"--making it into an undesirable item to access. Unless Hathi Trust grabs it and won't let anyone without a PhD and current university affiliation access it, again making it impossible for regular people to use it...nice "open access" guys!
