I read this in the 6th Grade...
So, I borrowed this from my mom when in the 6th grade. At that time it was 1980 and the transition from the 70s "Me", generation hadn't quite begun its natural progression or should I see regression into the 80s era of, "he who dies with the most toys wins" foolishness. Sadly that way of thinking has never left us and only grew into the almost intolerable over materialistic, hyper competitive, culture of the self that we live in now. And, this was only one book of many that helped foster that era along.
As a 12-year-old I thought this book was a revelation, an epiphany, a gospel for success and the yellow brick road towards becoming someone. Everything in a book that a pre-pubescent boy would consider informational gold.
Now at 54 I look back at the book, that era and all the decades since then and can only think that that unenlightened waste of paper was appropriate for a 12-year-old pre-pubescent brain. But as an adult? It was nothing but a tomb of obnoxious advice for creating a shallow society of over individualized adult children prone to believing they deserve what ever they desire.
I gave it a two star, because I reserve single star ratings for those things that are so horrid they would be an embarrassment to admit having read.

Great guide for positive outlook.
This book changed my life. That is a big Statement but it has. Read it and use lessons from the book and gradually you will see the benefit of what you have read. Just do it. Good reading.
