The Beach 99.4fmNew Zealand Place Name Radio Special

A radio show broadcast in June 2006 by The Beach 99.4fm, a community radio station on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The deal is that all songs on the show have a New Zealand place name as their title. As you may imagine the result is an eclectic array of musical styles, from folk, to electronica, to punk and more.

The show traverses the country from North to South. Highlights include Taumata ..., reputedly the longest place name in the world, NZ folk classic, Taumaranui, a remix of Gaylene's Dunedin and an exclusive track from Matthew Bannister's band, The Weather
