Subject: German Youth Activities
Subject: German Youth Activities
I helped to run the German Youth Activities at Karlslruhe Germany in 1952. We had three centers, the largest one at 18 Weinbrennerstasse, a second one at Durlach a tor and a Girls Center with Frau Ubersharer. I had a staff of 12 German civilians with Herr Sproll the manager and my driver was Walter Barthoff who was a Tiger tank driver at the Russian Front. We had a summer camp at Hirshhorn Vally near Heidelberg where we rotated children to the camps with US Army tents, kitchen equipment and chow. We had a number of clubs in the centers ran by locals.
