This is one of many short video segments which will be added to the Digital Tipping Point (DTP) archive. Thanks to Thomas King, a writer for Linux.com and LXer, for doing the rough editing for this series of interview segments!
This series of 11 video segments features a tour of a Brazilian telencenter, called Jaragua TaiPas. It is located on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil, a city of some 19 million people. You can see b-roll footage of the drive through Sao Paulo to this telecenter here. This page has links to the other 7 pages of b-roll driving to this telecenter:

This summary of this tour was created by DTP Producer Christian Einfeldt, who has very limited fluency in Brazilian Portuguese. There are holes in this summary that need to be filled. If you see errors on the summary, or would like to help fill out the holes in this summary, please email your corrections to Christian Einfeldt at einfeldt @ gmail.com.
In segment 05 (Tape 122~007), we see more Bush Aerobics. The teenager viewing that site gets bored and moves onto a video game featuring George W. Bush in a cartoon shoot-out in the White House. Attempted assassins break into the US White House in the Oval Office. Bush is armed with a gun and takes on a team of heavily armed assassins. The teenager, playing as Bush, holds off the attackers reasonably well. After a few minutes, the teenager moves on to another shoot 'em up game. It is interesting to see the graphics that were able to run on-line over a GNU-Linux network in 2004.
In segment 06 (Tape 122-008), we see a different teenager playing a video game in which a Bush cartoon character dances with a Britney Spears cartoon on the White House lawn. The name of the game is United We Dance. The title is in English. W is able to keep up with Britney just fine. We see the teenager manipulate Bush's dance moves. The camera goes back to the first teenager who was playing the Bush shoot'em up game. He is interviewed. He says he was downloading a musical score to play on his guitar. He says that he likes the telecenter because it is free, and he can learn how to play guitar. He also does his homework, and applies for jobs. He gets up to get his guitar, sits back down, and the tape runs out.
In segment 07 (Tape 123~001-002), the teenager with the guitar is all set up and ready to play. He tells us the name of the piece, which is a Brazilian Portuguese name, presumably. If any viewer knows the name of this piece, please post it below on the review section, or email to einfeldt @ gmail.com . He then starts another song and DTP cameraman Paul Donahue zooms in on his face as he begins singing. He is not a great musician, but he is really having fun. In fact, he is joined by other teenagers who crowd around him and sing along with him. They are also not great, but it doesn't matter, because they are having fun.
