William Lloyd Garrison writes: "In accordance with instructions given to me by the Board of Managers of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society, I transmit to your Society the following preamble and resolution." In the resolution, the Board vidicates John Anderson Collins of "certain charges or insinuations intended to implicate" his integrity. The resolution is signed by William Lloyd Garrison, Corresponding Secretary of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society
On page two of this manuscript, there are resolutions from the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society, Jan. 27-28. It includes a resolution about the World's Convention held in London, June 12, 1840, with the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society. It is signed by the secretaries of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society, William M. Chace and Anne Warren Weston
