Subject: End of the Heroic Age
Subject: End of the Heroic Age
A tiny little book that, according to the statement in the back, was given away rather than sold. Kharas claims to be a popular writer under various pen names but says this is his favorite book. I did a search for other books by him but came up empty. In bombastic language he tells us Lincoln was "a demi-god" (on pg. 3) and the Heroic Age of the United States ended with Appomattox and Lincoln's martyrdom. Now we've become the most powerful nation in the world, he says, and worship money rather than God. This was in 1921. Gets some of his facts wrong and whitewashes Lincoln but it looks like he was on to something about the US worshiping money.
