Hell yeah! The best, the closest, the greatest New Deal show I have ever seen. The Best NYE for that matter. I would highly recomend this venue, i met the brewmaster before the show, and they have really good beer. I agree, my memory was slightly tainted at the show, as just before the encore i am yelling to Darren "Gone, Gone, gonee" two which he responds "We already played that, that was the first one we played" Although slightly embarassing that at that point I couldnt remember the first song, but thats becuase it was f'in crazy. Amust for any fan

Thanks to the New Deal for once again putting on an explosive New Years show...probably the most energetic ones I can remember since Big Cypress. The second set is killer and big ups to the tapers who were able to put this out for us in terrific quality.

I've listened to all the shows from 2004, and I think this one takes the cake for a couple of reasons: 1.) They played two songs off of their downtempo CD that are sweet with one of them bleeding directly into a wham song (Wind over the Crickets > Careless Whisper). 2.) the venue, city, and festivities were amazing. 3.) Ton of improv stuff 4.) The sound quality is solid. 5.) energy
This is a must have for the New Deal fan.

Great show at a great venue. 4th time seeing the guys and each just keeps getting better. I was hoping that there was a taper somewhere, I didn't remember seeing anyone. Thanks to all those involved in getting this up.
I am updating the file names, but I am sure that I will make a mistake or two. If you find one, use the "File Options" link on the left to rename the files. Also, the untitled song sounds a bit like a tease of something, which i can't figure out.

Tight little brewery that was packed as hell. People were sneakin in the back since the show was sold out and the place was not too big especially for nye. My bro and I dorve up from chi-town for this show and neither of us were dissapointed although my memory might be tainted by the festivities. Take a listen and judge for yourself but at the least this is a good listen.

This was my first New Deal show, had a great time, and I could not think of a better way to celebrate the New Year. This venue was very intimate and the sound was great just about anywhere. The recording is audience intense - that is, you hear a lot of hooting and hollaring, but its not really obtrusive to the quality of the recording, and I think its good in that it allows the listener to hear a bit of the excitement and craziness of the crowd during the performance. There are some great songs on this show, but since there are no songnames (yet) I guess you'll just have to download the whole show. (It's worth it) First set started out kinda simple but progressively got very groovey. It includes the NYE countdown, and the hairs stand up all over again for me each time I listen. I enjoyed listening to the second set more than the first, felt like there was more energy and more synergy between the band members. MUCH THANKS go out to the New Deal, the taper(s), and the distributer(s) who made this show possible to download for free. YOU GUYS ROCK! :D
