Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Cliff Hucker, can you seriously just lay off?

Let me reveal who cliff hucker is... The guy who claims to "fight his fight's under his name" Some data about Cliff Hucker. He also uses the handle "Masons Owner", amongst others, I believe this is clever also because he has a pet named "Mason". Masons Owner, as many of you probably don't know, was a serious troll at www.lostsailorpub.forumup.it How do I know it was Cliff? I mean, Dennis Gore? Cross references and a little help from some friends. 1) Dennis signed up for our 1984 petition for Rhino. He wrote: "12. dennis gore Please do not consider any shows performed after 1977 for official release" http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?dogstarz&1 But, there is more... 2) http://www.dead.net/member/masons-owner (note: Dennis Gore) And yet more... 3) http://www.facebook.com/dennis.gore?v=wall (you can see some pictures of cliff dennis gore hucker here, and if you have seen his pictures here at the LMA, there is no longer any doubt who he is) Names and IPs used at the Lost Sailor Pub: 1) Masons Owner (changed by kochman to "Masons Owner the Troll": http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=189&mforum=lostsailorpub *A list of 20 posts at Lost Sailor Pub under Masons Owner http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/search.php?search_author=Masons+Owner+the+Troll&mforum=lostsailorpub *IPs as Masons Owner, all of which were "Verizon NYC Wireless" 96.224.67.175 96.224.66.68 96.224.66.124 96.224.64.94 96.224.68.31 96.224.69.204 71.167.61.87 *Threats received in my PMs from "Masons Owner" - "Stop it now or I will fuck you up beyond belief" 2) Trouble You Asked For http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=204&mforum=lostsailorpub *3 Posts from this address http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/search.php?search_author=Trouble+you+asked+for(Mao&mforum=lostsailorpub *IP Addresses from this user name: 71.167.71.194 71.167.71.128 3) Chinacat http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=351&mforum=lostsailorpub *Only post was deleted, therefore the IP was lost 4) Sainted Stephen http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=364&mforum=lostsailorpub *3 Posts from this username (note, he tried to play nice, but then didn't, the offending posts were deleted) http://lostsailorpub.forumup.it/search.php?search_author=Sainted+Stephen&mforum=lostsailorpub *IP addresses from this username 71.167.61.64 Dennis Gore, would you like me to expose more info about you on the internet? ...there are so many actually relevant things to discuss here. If someone happens to be pissing you off, regardless of the reason, just ignore it and move on. This constand bickering is really just getting plain silly and makes both of you look rather sad. Right or wrong, it comes down to one simple question: who the f**k cares? Its a goddamn internet chat room, not a hearing comittee for vetting the next Supreme Court Justice.
Well, I'm guessing this plea will just fall on deaf ears. So resume this pointless exchange of seeing who can dish out the best put down and I'll try to practice what I preach and just ignore it.
OK, just had to get that off my chest. Perhaps the Playin' frm the Parc des Expositions on 1974-09-18 will get my mind off things.

FYI for both you and CLIFF.. Get a grip

How to lose an argument onlinefrom Seth's Blog by Seth Godin100+ people liked this
Have an argument. Once you start an argument, not a discussion, you've already lost. Think about it: have you ever changed your mind because someone online started yelling at you? They might get you to shut up, but it's unlikely they've actually changed your opinion.
Forget the pitfalls of Godwin's law. Any time you mention Hitler or even Communist China or Bill O'Reilly, you've lost.
Use faulty analogies. If someone is trying to make a point about, say, health care, try to make an analogy to something conceptually unrelated, like the space shuttle program, and you've lost.
Question motives. The best way to get someone annoyed and then have them ignore you is to bypass any thoughtful discussion of facts and instead question what's in it for the person on the other end. Make assumptions about their motivations and lose their respect.
Act anonymously. What are the chances that heckled comments from the bleachers will have an impact?
Threaten to take action in another venue. Insist that this will come back to haunt the other person. Guarantee you will spread the word or stop purchasing.
Bring up the slippery slope. Actually, the slope isn't that slippery. People don't end up marrying dogs, becoming cannibals or harvesting organs because of changes in organization, technology or law.
Go to the edges. This is a variant of the slippery slope, in which you bring up extremes at either end of whatever spectrum is being discussed.
So, what works?

Earn a reputation. Have a conversation. Ask questions. Describe possible outcomes of a point of view. Make connections. Give the other person the benefit of the doubt. Align objectives then describe a better outcome. Show up. Smile.

Cliff picks and chooses whom he likes and then either ignores or (in my case) attacks the latter under psuedonyms. I had an annoying go of it some time ago. It's a shame that there are two Cliffs. The one is a remarkably insightful and knowledgeable Deadhead whose posts I enjoy. The other is an insecure prick who is intolerant of anyone who steps on or near his foot regardless of intent. It's always a shame to me when the intelligent ones lower themselves by behaving the way Cliff does. Kochman on the other hand: you run a piddlywink little GD site that doesn't see much traffic and that really exists because you don't get along with folks here. I suspect that is as much you as anyone else. Bringing your Cream Puff War to these pages simply exposes the toadiness that led you to leave in the first place. Posting Cliff's i.p. addresses serves only to underscore your own pathetic need for attention. Why not actually post something about the GD rather than about yourself? Sure, Cliff should shut his fucking mouth--we could all do some of that--and stick to what he does best--champion 1968 and keep pointing folks to some of the best damn music ever played. And Kochman--stick to your little corner on the internet where you can be king. I'm afraid that here you are just another annoyance. And I'd conduct a poll about that background before pissing on s/he who would criticize it. You do not speak for everyone, even in your own kingdom.

I'm sorry GOP, I'm not looking to rikindle any hostilties with you, Ive long since buried the hatchet with you.

Of course any trouble we have the had in the past had to be entirely my fault, its inconcievable that you could have possibly had any part in contributing to it.

You are wrong about one thing though. I have never once posted at this forum under any other user name, not once ever. But I know that you cannot say the same. How many user names have you gone through here, by the way, orchidcosmicuncle...

I don't know anything about Cliff attacking people under another name. To me that sounds like a "Nature Channel" documentary called "When Cliff Attacks" or something. I like reading his insightful posts here about great shows (because we have similar tastes)... plus he always seems so friendly, inviting people to come fish with him and all.. I'm just saying... kochman on the other hand seems to live to hassle with people and call them names for no other reason than that they disagree with him. Here is a pleasant exchange myself, and others, had with him a few months ago. Could he in fact be Dick Cheney? http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=241348 And BTW, posting someones name and street address here (before he later modified it) is fucked up!

Koch has some issues, it might be Gulf War Syndrome, but I suspect that he is dealing with more than that right now. He has done alot more than just broadcast my IP addresses, post my personal information and link to my facebook page.

Over the weekend I received several harassing phone calls from him, a barrage of spam from gay porno/dating sites that he registered me at, and he has posted an interesting thread about me at his website where a google arial photo of my Florida residence has been posted. This all in spite of the the webmasters statement at LSP that "this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent" so much for Kochmans word of honor. Just a word of warning to those who register at his site!

I was forced to contact the Tampa police and file a complaint with a detective there. If any of you are having similar problems with Koch, or suasponte (one of the other user names he goes by here), I can provide you with the telephone and case numbers. I would certainly advise anyone considering registering at his website to think twice before doing so!

The truth is that I have posted a few times at his site, but it has been nearly a year since I have participated there. Around last January/February he started spamming the LMA forum with invitations to his site and getting into nasty political arguements with folks here and trolling this place up. At that time I posted some goofy stuff over there. I never really attacked anyone there, never PM'd anyone, I didnt post anything terribly hostile, malevolent, or even particularly disruptive. Mostly I commented in threads on music or shows in Italian (I used to live in Italy), or inquired why there were advertisements for gay sites at his forum. I have not posted at LSP in nearly a year, I'm not sure what it is Koch wants me to stop doing over there.

One time though, I did cause a rather large disturbance there, by asking a very naughty question. It caused quite an uproar there at the time, but I never got an answer to my question. So I am going to ask the same question again here now:

Which fruit do you think more closely resembles a lubricated vagina, a juicy Mango, or a ripe Crenshaw Melon in September?

I suspect Kochman is dealing with some personal problems right now. I feel sorry for him that he is so disturbed that he felt compelled to take the actions that he recently has. Lets hope he gets the help he needs, there are resources out there that provide help for veterans like him.

Hi Ian,

For one thing, I dont have a charter business, Im a commercial fisherman. I'm not drumming up business for anything! When I post fishing photos I'm just tooting my horn. Would you like to come fishing next summer?

For another, the link in that old post was not related in any way to anyone who has ever participated at this forum.

Finally, I have not posted at Kochmans site since last February! He seems determined to perpetuate all this bullshit...

There is a town in north Ontario,
With dream comfort memory to spare,
And in my mind
I still need a place to go,
All my changes were there.

Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us

Helpless, helpless, helpless
Baby can you hear me now?
The chains are locked
and tied across the door,
Baby, sing with me somehow.

Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us

Helpless, helpless, helpless.

Er, uh...no, Hook, the only one I know, certainly does not exist for this reason. It in fact was started long before the shit hit the fan here, and amazingly, withstood the Full Scale Hostile Takeover of most LMA types, and keeps right on rolling along (well, okay, it was a weak-knee'd attempt at getting to know some nice looking gals on our part...). Virtually all the regulars hereabouts posted there on and off, save Rob (no pun intended, Scotty), so that one isn't in the mix you refer to. But, did you really intend to admit your site exists solely because of us cranky Forumites? That's sadder than I imagined. You have got to be better than this.

I really have to wonder what deeply ingrained insecurity causes you to call out a lurker? How foolish is that? Sure, you and Cliff may not see eye to eye, but if all he does is lurk, whats the problem?

Anyone who takes his criticisms of you seriously is a fool who can't draw a line between what's real and what's virtual. Lay off him and he'll probably lose interest and if he doesn't than he's an ass... which any rational person will see. Likewise if you continue to get upset over it, then you are the ass, no? which again... any rational person will see.

Tell ya what kochman, I do appreciate what you are saying. I have read some of the posts, in fact, in real time. I guess my thing is that far as I know Cliff has not posted anything derogatory at LSP. Correct me if I am wrong please. Sure, I don't care to see him bashing you or LSP here, but I ignore it. I enjoy both sites. Life is way too short to be so stressed by some drivel posted on the net.

Yes, cliff has done derogatory things at LSP... many... I can go into detail, but if he just states he will lay off, I will let it go... EDIT: as you know, he decided to push the envelope... so, see the edited first post for his BS at the LSP. Dennis Gore, I am telling you, if you stop, I will stop...

I remember one lurking story that I would like to share before this year ends. Cliff you may like this ass well.

I was at a Yankees vs Baltimore game after having a big blow out with my girlfriend at the time named WANDA.

I was standing urinating and as I lurked over at the rasta standing next to me I noticed he had WANDA tattooed to his dick. That bitch already had me pissed, so I asked the rastaman if he knew that slut named WANDA. He answered "NO", it sez "WELCOME TO JAMACIA HAVE A NICE DAY".

I don't know who you are or what lsp is, but I've been friends with Cliff here for years and he's always been an up & up person with me.

If this is how you start your New Year, I will only hope it improves from here!

As LSP lurker I have to say... that background image really makes it difficult to read the posts, especially the longer ones.

If you use firefox and have adblock plus, you can right click on the background and block that image as well.

Can't you just design the website to not be unreadable?

I have only heard this complaint from one other person, and there are like 700 members... post something there about it, if people join with what you are saying, I will change it...

And I design and upkeep websites as part of my job, so I kind of know what I'm talking about.

Yes Miss Divine, you are talking about your personal preference or issues, no need to give your credentials to voice an opinion. And of course, credentials don't make your opinion "correct".
Anyhow, as I said... if more people dislike it, it can be changed.

I always find it best to give my professional credentials when I comment on something that falls within my boundaries of interest.
And I will now refrain from saying anything about your site again.

Fair enough, it still boils down to personal preference. Most people there seem to have no problem with it, sorry that you do.

There is a bit of a problem with the owner breaking of the registration agreement for that website. Your word is your bond.

A cautionary phrase to prospective members...

I do like the 80's, but why bother with a website guided by that ethic?

been thinking, the measure of a forum is not how far an individual has to go before a forum will violate their own privacy policies, but rather, how far a forum will go to protect an individuals privacy http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9938603-7.html "Sue me" "A cautionary phrase to prospective members..." indeed!

Yep; this was what I was blathering on the other day...Kman really has put himself in a position of responsibility, and violated that trust in a big way.

He imagines that CLIFF is running his place down, and perhaps he is, BUT he has done more damage to his site and prospective members than CLIFF ever could have done on his own.

Just note the many very mild mannered sorts here (not me, CLIFF, Rob, etc., but REALLY mild mannered sorts) that clearly are now completely turned off to the notion of showing up there (based on their comments posted here the past few days).

Sad really.

I have to agree with you here, Tell. If there's been a recent example of someone being more comprehensively hoist with his own petard than Kochman with his 'sue me' post I'd love to see it. He deserves to be laughed out of the forum next time he shows his face. In fact, I'd love to see one of the cross-posters copy and paste his derisory 'outing' of Cliff and the 'sue me' remark on to Lost Sailors - but of course 'King' Kochman would doubtless just edit it out.

Get this neat readability program to add to your toolbar:

http://lab.arc90.com/experiments/readability/

It removes those annoying background images and presents the text as book or newspaper style.
