Me too. There is so much I would like to see. Within a year's time, Ganbachi has promised Danger Man. I have looked on Amazon and a used box set is over 80.00!

My favorite serials are ATOM MAN VS. SUPERMAN (found a copy at Big Lots for $3 awhile back) and CAPTAIN VIDEO put out by VCI. Great fun and superb quality on both.

Another couple I'd like to see are MYSTERIOUS ISLAND and THE LOST PLANET. I'm a big fan of Sam Katzman's Columbia serials for sure.

Is that the same mysterious island where the civil war soldiers escape from a POW camp and land on a island that is... mysterious, and they meet Captain Nemo there too? Is that PD? I have that one but the video quality is pretty poor.

Yep, that's the one. I have a possible source for it, I just need to send him a check. One chapter of it was a "extra bonus" on that DVD box set of Sam Katzman-produced '50s movies including THE GIANT CLAW, THE WEREWOLF, etc. That chapter was great fun, just enough to make me want the rest of it!

Wow! The 1951 serial Mysterious Island would be so cool to have here, if it's PD. I have the 1961 movie, which is great fun.

Well...the serial is a bit strange. It has a girl from the planet Mercury wielding a raygun...not exactly Jules Verne. But it does have Richard Crane in the cast, aka Rocky Jones Space Ranger.

Bizarre characters and bad actors - sounds great! BTW, I looked for a renewal notice at USCO and found none.

I've noticed that Flying Disc Man from Mars has this license: Creative Commons license: Attribution 3.0. It's not PD, but people are free to to copy, distribute and transmit the work, among other rights. It would be great if someone would upload a better copy of the serial.

Perhaps some of the other copyrighted serials could also have this kind of license.

YOU COULD BE RIGHT,PERHAPS SOME OF THEM CAN BE downloaded,BUT I
PREFER TO WAIT UNTIL SOME ONE WHO HAS A BETTER UNDERSTANDING
OF SUCH THINGS CAN VERIFY THAT SERIALS LIKE CAPTAIN MARVEL
AND AND SPACE SOLDIERS ARE IN PD.

First off,i'm not crazy,i just have a conscience and don't
desire to break the law, especially if everyone around me does it,i'm grateful of the fact that i can download and keep many of these PD serials.
Perhaps with luck,PD tv copies of these copyrighted serials will pop up and
be uploaded.
This is how Youtube is getting into trouble,at first it was
a safe site where public domain videos and personal videos
were loaded and downloaded, then some fools got the idea that
they could load copyrighted videos and not get caught.
I read that the site is in the middle of numerous legal
disputes which seem hopeless to battle.
Yet thousands continue to do so,i choose not to because
i'm going to study filmmaking and i cringe at the thought
that there are people who would probably rip off some of my
future works of art.

I believe now you understand how i feel about things,i
really don't mean to be a nag(i myself wish that many of the
copyrighted serials were in pd,besides, who really watches serials anymore?).
On another note,i've seen the Batman serials(i even own the
second one that columbia released on dvd).
They are pretty good considering the times they were made in,the only arguement that i have about them is that because
of legal disputes,i read that they eliminated the idea of using Batman's comic book enemies and exchanged them for
America's WW2 enemies.

As for the rest of you,if you desire to see it,then by all means go right ahead,i didn't say you can't,i just gave my
opinion and suggestions about dealing with such materials.

Again,i only made mention of this in response to a past post where certain individuals requested vigilance in spotting and reporting Copyright violations.
If it bothers you all, then i will kindly knock it off.

I don't really think your posts bother anybody. In fact I admire your caring spirit. I and others have left similar messages in the past few months. I don't know how long you've been visiting this site, but the rest of us have been noticing a severe amount of apathy by management and staff of IA. As I've said before, this site seems to have been left on auto-pilot. I can only make assumptions because of the lack of any percievable activity on staff's part. I feel your frustration and so do a lot of others who visit this site. I've heard rumors of Google taking over this site. Well, I wish SOMEBODY would take over this site, because management isn't doing the job. Hang in there.
