What the ... |
can someone please explain to me why there is an issue/halt with the medical evacuations from Haiti, seemingly due to who's going to pick up the tab? in a quick search via google, i am seeing that over $300 million (could be more, i have no idea really) in charitable donations have been made toward the relief effort (and i'm guessing that this DOES NOT include gov't aid) ... why can't at least a portion of this $$$ be earmarked for these evacuations and hospital care? i realize the staggering sums that are needed to oversee the cost of such a huge tragedy, or are the creature comforts for those aid workers on-site more important in the bigger picture?
