Most folks here don't realize just how difficult taping was in the 70's. In the early 80's before the BCT run in the fall of 1984, we used to sneek our Sony D-5's into shows under the skirts of our female companions.

Speaking of tapes, i taped my first show in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre on August 24th 1971.

There's a bit of mis-information circulating regarding this date, performance and the actual recording which i can clarify as to the truth of the matter.

Which program and format do you recommend one consider for formatting and uploading analouge audience recordings here?

Thnx.

Kochman, you had yet to be born in 1971. Why lie to the good folks here?

Since you’ve chosen to “once again” lift your leg in one of my post’s, this time with a Jeff Kaplan response, i’ll break my code of silence this one time; for the record, i’m not Kochman, nor have i ever been, or any of the other 10 handles that you've accused me to be, or any of the other folks who you assume to be Kochman. I don't believe in war, never fired a handgun, never enlisted in any military service and feel sorry for the young kids who feel compelled to enlist in the military due to limited career options today. Consistent with your persistent "stalking" i chose to visit the "Lost Sailors Pub" out of curiosity and found it not only to be an underwhelming home page, it proved to be difficult to navigate and have never returned. This Kochman obsession of yours is beyond delusional, shit, just get over it dude! I did the google search (cliff hucker, kochman) (cliff hucker, skobud) and read through some of your previous posting history here, it's completely un-professional and further, your behavior (and a few others) is an embarrassment to Brewster Kahle, his staff, the good people and the integrity of the forum. No one single individual has a longer track record of disregard, disrespect and abuse of others here at the forum than you, Cliff, other than the defunct, Islam Sucks, for all the obvious reasons. I've stated before that you have the chops to differentiate a good performance from mediocrity, and it certainly appears from your musings that you've spent 100's of hours listening here to the GD musical inventory. I was born in 1957 and choose to remain anonymous on the internet to protect my family and simply don't understand why anyone would give out their identity whether it be the Forum, Facebook, Twitter etc... ??? You've gone off "ad nauseam" about how this Rob character stalked you, hacked your computer, and that you had to notify the authorities about this behavior? I could understand why you regret giving up your personal information to the LSP and your buddy Rob, but by posting complete mis-information, lies and resorting to slander towards my good character borders on criminal behavior and you're a repeat offender. I drop in here from time-to-time and share my life's experience as a distraction from my busy and complicated day and it's unfortunate to see that most of the good people i've had the pleasure to know over the years inside @ around the Grateful Dead avoid this area of the Internet Archive like the plague. In closing i’ve ignored you for months because you are so completely full of shit and can’t begin to comprehend your insecurity, nor would i ever choose to. Funny thing is, if we met in a bar, we’d probably find that we have more in common than not, but your “negga-downer” energy would prohibit that from ever happening. I'll leave you with a quote from the terms of use; Terms of Use 10 March 2001 (g) not to harass, threaten, or otherwise annoy anyone. I can't help you with your insecurities pal, but can offer up a small piece of advice, grow-up dude!

"negga-downer"

What the hell is that? Is that a racial comment? I think this guy should be booted, its in the rules somewhere Im sure...

Wait, or is it something Koch says when he gets all worked up in front of the keyboard thinking he's being clever?

Youre an idiot Rob.

This silliness is certainly more tame than tribulations past, but this is too just too much and I can’t resist. Apologies to whoever might need them.

Cliff, I know you aren’t partial to auds, and this show was released on DP35, but wouldn’t it be cool to have an upload (since there are none here), even if it was taped by a 14 year old!?

I have full confidence that Mr. K's fictitious tape will never surface.

I'd love to hear it!

A 14 year old taping a show in 1971?

I guess Kochman is not very good at math...
