I really need your help on this one. Is the movie Freaks by Tod Browning in Public Domain ???
And if it is not in Public Domain, could anyone document who owns the copyright ???

This is kinda related but how can Warner Bros copyright movies that are proven to be public domain? There's several cartoons that are PD but yet Warner's filed a copyright claim on them.

Uhhh how has the movie Freaks been proven to be in the public domain? Freaks has never been in the public domain.

I wasn't referring to Freaks. I was following a train of thought. Warner Bros has filed copyright claims on several Looney Tunes (ie: Jungle Jitters) that fell into the public domain in the 60's due to United Artists not renewing the copyright.
