Subject: A Mathematical Treasure Trove
Subject: A Mathematical Treasure Trove
The 13 volumes of Cayley's papers (plus an index volume) seem like somewhat outdated mathematics. However, these almost-1000 papers contain many great ideas that have powered mathematics. These papers are still referenced in current books and research articles. Read them not so much about what they prove, but with an eye to the mathematical techniques behind the papers. It has been 125 years since Cayley's death, but these papers still inspire new math.
