Six New French Country Dances, Viz La Zelia, La Nathalie, La Corra, La Brillante, La Ronde du Tems, L'Amoureuse. With their Proper Figures as Performed at the Opera in Paris, Arranged for the Piano Forte, With an Accompaniment for the flute (ad lib). Composed & Respectfully Inscribed to The Rt Honble Viscountess Castlereagh, by F.J. Klose.
This is the first of two collections of
French Country Dances issued in London by Klose either in 1815 or early 1816, this copy is printed on paper watermarked for 1815. They're essentially a set of quadrilles, but published at a date at which the term
Quadrille had yet to become prevalent in London. Many of the figures are readily identified as being shared with those of the
First Set of Quadrilles as issued by
Edward Payne (and others).
